In the late period of Zhu Yuanzhang's reign in the Ming Dynasty, the imperial order stopped the dragon Tuanfeng cake and changed to bud leaf tea. The manufacturing process of Wuyi rock tea changed from steaming green tea to frying green tea in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
During the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1875-1908 AD), the production of Wuyi rock tea reached 250,000 kg, except for a small part of which was sold at home and abroad, mainly exported to Singapore, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, the United States and Hong Kong and Macao of China.
